Mara Rose: Five years

Weight: 43 lb 3.4 oz on 2/18/19

Height: 3′ 8.49″ on 2/18/19

Clothing size: Wore 5T clothes most of the year, just moved up to 6/6X

Nicknames: Not really any new ones. Still call her Mar-Mar and Mar

Health/Diet: Mara would still prefer to snack all day rather than eat a full meal. She’s pretty picky, but she especially likes strawberries, avocados, chicken nuggets, corn, carrots, peas, meatballs and mashed potatoes. And of course Mimi’s cherry pie! She also loves the chips and white queso dip at Que Pasa, the macaroni and cheese at Panera and a huge tub of popcorn at the movie theater!

Sleep: She usually goes to sleep around 8:45/9:00 and wakes up at 6:30 when her okay-to-wake clock turns green. She’ll oftentimes wake up in the middle of the night needing to go to the bathroom and then want one of us to cuddle with her for a little bit to get back to sleep.

Milestones: Mara is in her second year of preschool and goes Monday-Wednesday-Friday from 9:00-11:30 a.m. at Oak Grove Preschool. She loves it and wishes she could go every day! She is already counting down the days until kindergarten in the fall and can’t wait to go all day, every day.

Mara enjoyed collecting shells and going for walks on the beach during our family vacation to Ocean City, Maryland, for a week this summer. Her favorite part might have been swimming in the pool though!

For her fifth birthday, we had a “Spirit” birthday party (Netflix show about horses). We even re-created a birthday cake Grandma Rupp made for mommy with a Skittles rainbow and horse figurine. Mara was thrilled!

Mara loved our Florida trip with the Rupp family that included three days at Disney this January. She was in heaven getting to meet a lot of the princesses in person. As her birthday gift from the Rupp aunt and uncles, Mara got to go with Aunt Kim and mommy to a super special birthday lunch inside Cinderella’s castle with some of the princesses. “Best day ever!”

The Florida trip was also her first flight, which she thought was pretty cool but didn’t like the pressure changes that made her ears pop. Another (unfortunate) milestone was needing to get some dental work done that included removal of a couple of baby teeth. We’re hoping that is all done now and we can stay cavity-free!

Likes: Dancing, gymnastics, crafts, making up songs, babies, swinging (pumping herself), games, baking, playing “mean monster” with daddy

Dislikes: New foods, having to be patient and wait for things, feeling left out
